Biografia
Nascida em Coleraine, Michelle apareceu em diversos programas da televisão britânica, incluindo ‘The Bill’, ‘Holby City’ and ‘Heartbeat’. Um de seus papéis anteriores foi como a assassina Cathy Michaels em ‘Inspetor Morse’ no episódio intitulado “The Way Through The Woods”.
Fairley assumiu o papel de Sra. Granger em Harry Potter e as Relíquias da Morte, papel que pertenceu a Heather Bleasdale em Harry Potter e a Câmara Secreta.

Curiosidades
Michelle quase perdeu o papel devido ao conflito de sua agenda com a peça premiada “Dancing at Lughnasa”, de Brian Friel, contudo, os produtores da mega-produção insistiram.
Ela ficou satisfeita em ganhar o papel porque possui muitos amigos, familiares e filhos deles que gostam da série Potter.
Michelle não havia lido nem assistido nenhum filme da série antes de ganhar o papel.
Em fevereiro de 2009, ela apareceu com Julie Walters no aclamado drama “A Short Stay in Switzerland”, exibido na BBC.
