Potterish is online since November 27, 2002, a few days after the second movie has been released in Brazil. The site was produced by the tedium of two college girls on vacation period. They applied their knowledge on internet in the attempt to create a homepage about Harry Potter. No one could imagine then the success the site would have, becoming the best Harry Potter site in Brazil and one of the Top 5 in the world.
Today, Potterish has a Fan-fiction system – Floreios e Borrões (Flourish & Blots) – where visitors can read stories (over 14 thousand) written by fans and a forum – Grimmauld Place – where they can discuss Harry Potter and any other thing, totalizing more than five hundred thousand messages. Beside that, we recently started the Potterish Podcast, reformulated the Reviews section with a hundred texts written by fans and we also got the largest Harry Potter content in Brazilian internet, with more than 350 interviews with the author translated and info about actors, reviews of the movies and books and a whole world of information.
As if it wasn´t enough, we´ve got the best news about Harry Potter and relatives, praised by no one less and no one more than JK Rowling herself.
Today the sites hosted by Potterish count more than 600 thousand visitors per month and reached international prestige with the great placements in Rank Alexa. Also it was quoted in lots of vehicles around the country, like the newspapers O Estado de São Paulo, Jornal da Tarde and the magazine IstoÉ, and also the American journal NY Times.
On September 27, 2006, Potterish was distinguished with the FSA – Fã Site Award, which the writer JK Rowling handles to the best Harry Potter sites around the world. Potterish was the sixth site to get the award, being the only one to get it in 2006 and the first to get it being in a different language from English.

More about him: He is Marcelo’s former house-elf and a student of Computer Science in his free time. He was the last one entering the team (on its the first phase), after some months of exploration with no return. Nowadays he only manages and programs the Flourish & Blots, which was created against his own will, just to please his friend Marcelo, who enslaved him until the construction’s end. Lately he has been quite absent; he has rebelled and asked for his clothes. He promised to come back as soon as his graduation work gets concluded (we doubt it) and sporadically creates polls for the site. As the brain behind the FeB, he is a celebrity in the world of Fanfics and has currently been working on the 4.0 version of the system, once more against his own wills and forced by Marcelo.

More about him: He has been in Potterish for more than four years, and was the first one in the team who really used php for more than includes. In the early 2006, when Carmem and Gabriella decided to leave the Potter world to give attention to their own professional careers, he had to take the responsibilities for the site with Julio, meaning alone, as the later one had asked for his clothes some months earlier. Besides the duty of newsposter, he also takes care of the site’s nerd parts like programming, servers and different problems (quite many). Today he is trying to manage the “Floreios e Borrões” and the “Forum Grimmauld Place”. During his free time, he posts news and looks after the new projects (once he has a very fertile imagination). Furthermore, he also participates in the podcast and he is very ashamed of being part of it. If you want to contact him keep in mind the time zone difference as nowadays he lives close to J.K. Rowling. For complaints, abuse, press contact, problems with copyright, use his contact e-mail.

More about him: He started on Potterish as newsposter and after helping Marcelo virtually on everything, got promoted to Webmaster. He made an exchange trip to US and had to be absent from the site, which means Potterish got through a dark time, with no updates on the nerd part, specially due to Marcelo’s lack of free time and huge laziness. For everyone’s relief, specially Dan and Vitor, Fer got back to Brazil and to Ish. The updates got back, Ish improved and still is improving even more. Potterish and Marcelo will be more than forever thankful to the fundamental collaboration this former elf gave to our website.
Daniel Mählmann |
|
More about him: He was the last one promoted to webmaster by Marcelo and with no doubt a truly owner of his job, once, as Fernando, he has been using a great effort to maintain Potterish on its current status and, of course, he has been standing Marcelo’s nudges via MSN (with thousands of requests).
Vítor Werle |
|
More about him: Deserved the job after helping Ish on projects improving content. he was a major piece in order to make all the online content so good and perfect as it is now. We will always be thankful to him!
